Heat Transfer 3G Jet Opaque

Okay so if stumbled upon this blog, chances are that you have decided to heat press your design onto a dark colored fabric. But before we go on, you're going to need a printer, a black or a dark colored garment, a heat press machine and heat transfer paper made specifically for dark colored fabric.

Okay so let’s get started. The first thing you want to do is open up your image that you would like to heat press, you can open it up in any image editing software, but In this blog we are going to be using adobe Photoshop. Now once you have your image opened up you can make any adjustments you like before printing it out. Once you have made your adjustments you are now ready to move on to the next step, which is to print your design so go ahead and click on file in the task bar and choose print, you are now presented with a properties window where u can check your preferences and make any final adjustments, once you have made you adjustments you can now print you design.

Ok so now that we have our design printed we can now begin the heat transfer process, the first thing you want to do is lay your shirt down over the canvas of the heat press machine carefully and remove all the wrinkles. Once you have removed all the wrinkles you want to pre-press the fabric by closing down the machine for about ten seconds to remove any excess wrinkles and moisture and then to heat press  the fabric, be sure to have the correct temperature and time for dark heat transfer paper, I use 3g opaque and the temperature and time is 350f and 30 seconds.

Now that we have prepared our fabric you can now began to carefully peel the design directly off the backing of the heat transfer paper, un like light heat transfer paper, dark heat transfer paper is a cool peel type of paper which requires you to peel the design off before you heat press it onto the fabric.

Now that you have peeled your design, lay it carefully on the garment face up and place the protective parchment or any other type of heat protecting paper over the design, and begin the heat pressing process, be sure to have the correct time and temperature for the dark heat transfer paper, once you are done carefully remove the shirt from the machine and there you have it, your very own design heat pressed onto a dark colored fabric.
