What are the differences between CMS and HTML Websites?

What's up its Chris from Equalize Designz and today I'm going to explain the difference between CMS and HTML websites. This video that is embed will also explain the difference of both CMS and HTML. To start off CMS stands for (Content Management System) most people use these online tools, for blogging and creating a website. There are many different CMS websites you can use to create your own website with Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and Wix. When creating a website using CMS, they have there own tools ready for you to use.

When using CMS the basic tools are theme template that can be install on your website, you are able to customize your website to the way you would like it. There are plugins for different features you might need for your website. Most themes and plugins are free however when you use the free themes it will usually have the developer's name or company’s name in footer. If you plan on buying themes you should check out this website www.themeforest.com. When creating your website using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) there are coding languages if you don’t know how to code, it will be best to hire a web developer.

If you plan on using html to create your website it is advisable to have some knowledge of these coding languages such as CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) JavaScript and PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor). The one thing about coding your website is that you are only limited by your knowledge of coding languages and your creativity. To get more of an understanding in the HTML you can check out our blog post on "how to create a web page using HTML and CSS". The pro’s of creating a website using CMS only if your time is limited and you're in a need of a website it won't take that long to create one. The con’s of using CMS is that it can be limited when using certain themes such as theme customization and adding certain content. Some plugins doesn’t work with certain themes.

The Pro’s of creating your website using HTML is that you are using your own original code, HTML will allow you to be creative and give you the flexibility to do your codes. The con’s of creating your website using HTML is that it takes some time to actually fully developed the website. The process of developing your websites usually starts off with coding HTML for the structure of the site. Then you will style it using CSS, and if you plan on using any other features and functionality then you should use server-side scripting and client-side scripting which are JavaScript and PHP.

In conclusion the best thing to do is to overlook everything then way out your options. Thank you for reading this blog post check out Monday’s blog post on “what is creative block and how to deal with it”, until then have a good one.
