Cutting with registration marks in the Silhouette Cameo

Have you ever used heat transfer paper before, depending on the design it could be very difficult to cut it out with scissors or a Xacto knife well I have a solution for that. Hey everyone its Chris from Equalize Designz today I will be cutting with registration Marks in the Silhouette Cameo. Let's begin starting by opening the Silhouette Studio and importing our design, we then use our trace tool to trace the design then we click on trace outer edge. Once design is traced you will click on the page and select registration Marks, after that you would select the type registration marks for your machine.

There are different sizes for heat transfer paper they have 8.5x11 and 11x17, in the Silhouette Studio you can select the size of your paper by clicking on the paper icon and changing your width and lengths to the size you are using. When heat pressing there are different types of heat transfer paper you have light and dark, light is for white and light color shirts the dark is for black and dark color shirts. For light color shirts I use Jet Pro Soft Stretch and dark color shirts I use Jet Opaque. Only when printing light color heat transfer paper you have to flip the design horizontally because the design has to be mirror image, dark color heat transfer paper doesn't have to be flip because its a cool peel.

Besides using the registration marks for heat transfer paper you can use this method for creating stickers labels or anything that you decide to print and cut. Sometimes the Silhouette Cameo has problems when scanning the registration marks so what can be done is load the paper then go to the directional icon on the lower right of the touchscreen and basically you can move the blade to where the  registration mark then it should be able to scan and cut. If have any question please place your comment below, thanks for reading our blog post and check out Saturday's post.
